Your child needs effective, experienced representation. Today's juvenile laws are complex and carry serious consequences when a child is arrested. Things today aren't like they were when I was a youngster growing up in Western Pennsylvania. Even relatively minor matters, like fights and childish pranks, which were once handled by parents and schools, are now handled by the police and the courts. In some cases, a child can be charged as an adult and face the Courts, and most importantly, the penalties of the adult criminal court system. Even when a child is charged with a crime in juvenile court, the disposition of those charges can result in probation, placement, alternative schooling, and even incarceration in juvenile jails. Moreover, the notion that a child's juvenile record is destroyed and/or sealed in adulthood is untrue, and many juvenile convictions can follow a child into his or her adulthood for years to come. When a child is charged with any offense, your child is entitled to the representation of counsel. Because of the potentially serious and lasting consequences of a juvenile conviction, your child should walk into juvenile court with aggressive and experienced counsel.
